Before I go gloating off to bed, I must say why the gloating!

I won a bronze medal in BUSA this year! True I only won one fight to get it but I'm happy because during that fight I managed to switch on my brain and change my style to win back points and eventually overtake the poor confused girl. I have since been showing everyone my winning moves. If only I'd done that earlier in my first match I might be gloating about a silver or even a gold!

Because of the above my name is now in the paper (albeit the student one)! I plan on sending a cutting to my parents - my mom will probably be a bit annoyed as this will give me even more incentive to carry on doing karate and injuring myself, and I think my dad might be proud.

Today (yesterday) was Valentine's day and I spent it in the computer labs doing work. Whilst there I collected a couple of valentine tokens... one sheet of paper with a heart drawn on it and "Guess who?" written on the bottom, one long-stemmed wilting red flower (I hesitate to call it a rose, it is unthorned and quite small), and made and handed out origami hearts made out of scrap paper from the printer and the Student newspaper. Oh, and I also got an electronic ASCII heart through facebook. Tee hee!

Off gloating I therefore go.
